Beyond Remorseful...

If you're like me and are thousands upon thousands of dollars in debt due to school loans, this article will be an encouragement! Let's hang in there, and find creative ways to keep our dreams of being wives and mothers!

I read that this morning too! It was encouraging in one sense (we're not THAT bad off!) but discouraging in general - I really want to communicate to college girls that it's not worth it to take on so much debt! That article didn't even get into the amount of consumer debt students accumulate too, on top of loans.

Matthew and I have been talking a lot about debt recently as we move closer to his having a full time job (he had a third interview and a tentative offer yesterday!) and my being at home full time. We have a lot of debt to pay off...

You're right, Becky...the article barely scratched the surface:o) But I don't see these ideas presented very often, and so was excited to find them being discussed! One of my big goals right now is to share with young women how to stay AWAY from debt in order to be better prepared for family life and life in general. Since I made all the wrong decisions...I know what a pain in the @#&^ debt is!!!

I also completely agree with Watter's recommendation of Dave Ramsey. I've been recommending him for some time, especially "The Total Money Makeover" workbook. We're not nearly as far along on his plan as we would like, but at least we have not taken on any new debt in the past 1 1/2 years thanks to the education we got from him!

Hi, Erin!

Thank you for this post and the link - Even though I am older than the average college student, I went back to school about 5 years ago to finish my bachelor's degree. I fell into that student loan trap, too, and appreciate the advice in the article. Thanks, again!

And, by the way, I love your blog! I linked to it on my blog - www.momsdailythoughts.blogspot.com.
